Maple Macchiato??
I have to admit, I was skeptical. MAPLE Macchiato??? That just sounds wrong! What is Starbucks thinking?! But it was free, so I thought, "What the heck??" and tried it. And believe it or not, I actually liked it!
Sam (the manager): "What do you think Scott?"
Me: "It's sort of......well.......comforting. It kind of reminds me of the smell of my daughters faces every Saturday morning around 10:30am. Syrup. Pancakes. In a parental type of way, it's comforting. Yes, that's the word!"
Sam: "You're in the wrong business man..."

Scott,
You've got it bad! I'll try one next time I'm at Starbucks in our area. Am in NC now with some church planters/pastors. How is it going since Grainger? Trust that all is well...

I actually had maple hot wings once. That was too much. It was like eating spicy pancakes. I've got too much of an oversion to maple now, so I can't imagine drinking it.

Ok, I've got one. Maple Dijon salad dressing. I kid you not. I thought the sweet & sour thing would work. Yeah. No. It was hideous. One of those Tom Hanks spitting out caviar in "Big" things. I think Maple needs to be pretty careful what it consorts with.

OK, I"m sorry but you are there way too much if they know you on a first name basis!

Haha! I like being on first name terms with the staff in my local coffee shop... at my one at home (ive recently moved to a new city - new country actually!- to study) they knew me by name, and knew what I normally had... it was nice to have a kind of 'friendship' with them rather than always walking in and out, and never speaking to them.
Currently on the hunt for my new local... I think i may have already found it, but still experimenting!!

Have you ever tried Caribou coffee? It's incredible.
Had one of those Maple Macc's today and it was surprisingly good.
